Beginnings

For years swimmers familiar with the tides around the Fastnet Rock and lighthouse have been under the impression that the swim could not possibly be done. The southernmost point of Ireland, 51.3889° N, 9.6036° W, even sailboats have trouble racing off Fastnet Rock.

August 2011, Steven Redmond made history conquering the 21km iconic swim and now the pathway lies for future swimmers to follow in his swimstream (history)
